The Will to Love

Last week I had the opportunity to travel the International Builder’s Show (yeah… IBS) for work.

Through a poorly scheduled appointment I ended up with a free window of time and was able to see Aron Ralston (the guy who’s story inspired the hit movie 127 Hours) speak at the opening ceremonies. He is an amazing human being who speaks with such passion about seeing through your circumstances and the major themes running through our lives.

My favorite part of his entire talk:

In the movie trailer we showed before I started the narrator says ‘There’s no greater will than the will to live’. I submit to you that there is a greater will – the will to love.

Here is a clip I found of him on YouTube describing the moment when he knew he would survive the canyon and his motivation for finally working up the courage and ingenuity to find a way to sever his arm.

What an amazing story. Whatever it is you’re facing this week, this month, this year, you can get through it. Find the love that will inspire you and move forward.
